The currywurst. Some have heard of it, other would like to taste it and some lucky ones have tasted it yet. We can not give you the real origin of the currywurst since we would take a huge risk regarding the fact that the two parties claiming to have invented it would be very angry at us: Berlin and Hamburg. What is sure is that in these two cities, the currywurst is what the »jambon-beurre » sandwich is for the Parisians. They eat it at noon in an « Imbiss » or in food trucks on markets. They even organize contests for the best currywurst, the spiciest, the most tasteful, the craziest, … A real pillar of the german gastronomy and street culture.
At the café Titon, germanophil bar, as they like to call themselves, people are not only friendly and welcoming but they also have a proud selection of german beers all better than each other. Rothaus, Früh, Franziskaner, Erdinger, Berliner Kindl, to name a few, are not only marketing-oriented beers made for export but really excellent german beers , all from different regions and admixture methods. Taste matters and only taste. We like it… We even love it!
Here at Titon, they do have currywurst but also bratwurst and after having tested it, the probability that you will see us there again and again is very high!
